Stone Mountain, GA
Our November trip to Stone Mountain, Georgia was a breath of fresh cold air. We stayed at the popular Evergreen Marriott Resort. This was the view from our balcony…gorgeous.
The Stone Mountain Theme Park park down the road a bit is always a beautiful sight to behold at night. One of the reasons we like to visit in the late fall is just to see all the Christmas lights and decorations.
There are seasonal story time characters sprinkled around the park as well as a nightly snow angel Christmas parade.
Daytime we made our trip to the summit of the mountain for a completely different view.
It feels a bit like a lunar landscape to me, though it’s just a huge chunk of granite in the middle of Georgia.
This Florida girl was freezing though. The temp was hovering somewhere in the low sixties. ; )
Then we headed home through Atlanta traffic on a holiday weekend (gasp). Even with the traffic, shared many days well spent in Stone Mountain, Georgia.

Carefree in Cozumel
Cozumel is a favorite retreat for our family. A relaxing, friendly, and captivating escape.
We prefer the more quiet Playa San Juan (San Juan Beach) on the west side of the island. Here you receive the royal treatment.
Cozumel beaches are a combination of limestone and sand. 
The dining is open air, with the atlantic framed purposefully beyond limestone archways.
Umbrella tables greet you poolside.
Beach chairs await you oceanside and down beneath the rocky shore, the waters teem with treasure.
Our days spent in Cozumel are always days well spent.

Revisiting Stowe, Vermont
The snowless winter has ended here in South Florida and the snowbirds have flown north. I have missed seeing snow and so I pulled out photos from a trip to Stowe, Vermont to revisit. I can still clearly remember the wind in my face, my hair gently blown back, as we raced across the snow in our one horse open sleigh.

We stayed in a 2 room suite at Topnotch Resort in Stowe. Our room had hand painted furniture with wide picture windows to take in the mountain vistas and the snowfall. The ski runs lined the mountains in the distance.
The trip was a business trip, an achievement bonus. The President’s Club dinner and award ceremony was held at Nonna’s, the on site restaurant. Here is Jeff receiving his award.
We toured the little town’s attractions. Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory is located nearby just outside of Stowe in Waterbury. We took the tour with the group.
Yes, that’s “Hunka, Hunka Burnin Fudge”
We also strolled through downtown Stowe stopping at Shaw’s landmark store for a visit.
Another fun tour was the Cold Hollow Cider Mill where they make fresh pressed apple cider and donuts. Perfect companions to the crisp cool Vermont weather.
And this was the last time I played in the snow…

Top notch Resort in Stowe, Vermont is a winter wonderland paradise where, among many other snow sports, you can also take a horse-drawn sleigh ride. If you’re lucky, it might even be snowing!
